Overlay System

The overlay system offers a slightly cheaper alternative to Pattern Imprinted Concrete (approximately one third cheaper). It does carry the benefits of a very realistic colouring system which can easily be coloured intricately. This system has all the strength and durable qualities of the Wall Product, plus some more. As the test results in the wall specification show, it achieves a compressive strength of 45 newtons (30% greater than the concrete we use)

Advantages and suitability of the overlay system |
When Is It UnsuitableWe are unable to guarantee the overlay system with the same confidence as Imprinted Concrete , not because it is only 10mm deep , but because it relies firmly on the base to which it has been placed. It WILL adhere--It WILL NOT fall apart but to use it, the material to which we stick must be a solid foundation. Existing concrete is the best base (tarmac and gravel are not). If the concrete has existing cracks, we can take precautions to try to prevent these re -appearing on the overlaid surface but cannot guarantee against this. Keep in mind that no Pattern imprinted Concrete company will completely guarantee against cracks - no concrete company at all for that matter - they will simply guarantee that they will take all precautionary measures to minimise the risk, as we do. Bear in mind that it is Flexcment and so has some degree of flexibility in it’s make up to help withstand small ground movements. |
